At ARHC, we offer screening for several types of infections including sexually transmitted infections, bacterial vaginosis (BV), and yeast infections.
Gonorrhea is a sexually transmitted bacteria that we can get through all types of sexual activity. For many people this can cause abnormal vaginal discharge, irregular bleeding. Worsening infection can cause pelvic pain and infertility. Gonorrhea is easily treated with an antibiotic. At ARHC, we can test and treat you for gonorrhea infections. We can also treat your partner(s).
Chlamydia is a sexually transmitted bacteria that we can get through all types of sexual activity. For many people they don’t have symptoms but worsening infection can cause pelvic pain and infertility. Chlamydia is easily treated with an antibiotic. At ARHC, we can test and treat you for chlamydia infections. We can also treat your partner(s).
Trichomonas is a protozoan sexually transmitted infection that can get through all types of sexual activity. For many people they don’t have symptoms but some people have increased frothy, discharge and a fishy odor. Trichomonas is easily treated with an antibiotic. At ARHC, we can test and treat you for trichomonas infections. We can also treat your partner(s).
Human papilloma viruses are viruses that we can get through many activities, including sexual activities. There are many strains of these viruses and they can cause warts, including genital warts, cancer of the mouth, cervix, vagina, vulva and anus as well as other types of cancers. There is currently a vaccination that can help protect you from some strains of HPV virus. At ARHC, we can screen you for HPV infections as well as provide treatment for warts and precancerous lesions of the vagina and cervix.
At ARHC, we can offer screening for HIV with a prescription to a local lab or hospital for blood work. We can also refer you to other providers who can screen you with a rapid blood test or oral swab.
At ARHC, we can offer screening for Hepatitis A, B, or C with a prescription to a local lab or hospital for blood work.
